Dutch Living Take Shop in Castle Street, Shrewsbury

Were delighted to have let premises of just under 2,500sqft at 32, 33 & 34 Castle Street in Shrewsbury town centre to Dutch Living.

They will be selling bespoke handmade tables and furniture made from the finest reclaimed aged oak, using wood sourced from old barns around Europe, together with quirky home accessories and feature lighting.  The products are inspired from the Netherlands and the operators have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the furniture trade.

The premises are well situated, opposite H&M and Marks & Spencer, and have a history of furniture sales having previously been occupied by Multiyork Furniture.  Back in the 1960’s people may remember No. 32 being occupied by Henry Fields (Ladieswear) and No. 33 Castle Street being Wildings who had a large open staircase leading down to a basement area with booths where you could listen to records before purchasing them.

We wish Anna, Rob, Kirstie and the team at Dutch Living all the very best with the new business.

Marshall & Marshall Complete Triple Town Centre Property Transaction

Marshall & Marshall Ltd are pleased to announce their recent purchase of 12 Shoplatch, Shrewsbury.  The property was offered for sale by James Evans of Halls Commercial with vacant possession following the recent relocation of the tenant, Monks estate agents, into 10a Shoplatch.

Craig Henn, Property Director at Marshall & Marshall Ltd said “Having purchased 18 Market Street, 10 Shoplatch and 10a Shoplatch a few years ago, and then 11 Shoplatch more recently, we were keen to purchase 12 Shoplatch in order to complete the block”.

The second part of the transaction involved the relocation of DB Roberts & Partners estate agents, who have occupied one of our other properties close by at 3 Market Street for many years.  We were aware that they ideally wanted to have a roadside prominence and be amongst the other estate agents on Shoplatch/Barker Street, and so we agreed a surrender of their current lease together with a simultaneous new lease to them at 12 Shoplatch.  We undertook improvement works to the property and they relocated within a matter of just weeks.

The third part of the transaction involved re-letting 3 Market Street to national gaming retailer Games Workshop (trading as Warhammer) who will be moving from premises close by, as soon as DB Roberts have relocated into Shoplatch.  We quickly agreed terms with their retained agent, Iain Mills of Johnson Fellows, and are delighted to have them as a tenant.

Severn Hospice Take Shop at Monkmoor, Shrewsbury

We are delighted to have agreed a new letting of shop premises at the Telford Estate Shopping Centre, Monkmoor, Shrewsbury to Severn Hospice.

We had originally let the premises to another party, who for personal reasons were then unable to occupy the premises.  Severn Hospice had expressed interest in the parade previously, but were unable to proceed at the time due to them taking their first ever superstore in Beacalls Lane, Shrewsbury.  This time, everything slotted into place perfectly and, with the help of their retained agent, Simon Beedles of Barbers Commercial, we were able to agree terms within in a very short space of time.

The large free customer car park at the rear of the premises is ideal for people wanting to drop off clothes, accessories, shoes, toys, books and furniture.  Severn Hospice recruited staff quickly and underook their fit-out within a short space of time before opening to the public.
